David is a director KNOWN FOR HiS OBSERVATIONAL HONESTY, UNEXPECTED NARRATIVE, & CINEMATIC STYLE
French-born and Irish-raised, David's sleek aesthetic melds with a heritage of storytelling, giving him a directing style that bursts with evocative imagery and human-sized narratives.
Raised on a diet of cinema ranging from European art-house to American classics, David graduated the National Film School of Ireland in Dún Laoghaire before moving to London where he began editing & directing broadcast docs & commercials while developing his style through photography, shorts, and video installations.
His style blends the immediacy and honesty of non-narrative with visual storytelling characterized by smart use of camera and movement, a cinematographer's eye for lighting, and an editor's instinct for pacing. He excels at bringing emotion and gravitas to a technical team process. His work—whether abstract or candid, cinematic or character-driven—is always relatable and imbued with depth, beauty, curiosity, and excitement.
He directed the Kodak Award-winning short If Silence Should End starring Jimmy Watson, the short film Stumptown which was a Seed & Spark founding film, and the feature documentary The Kingdom of the Asante.
David now divides his time between Portland and London, directing commercials, brand films, and short narrative, and is developing his first feature.
